Bolinas Cemetery a.k.a.Birones Cemetery, Druid Cemetery, Saint Mary Magdelena Church Cemetery. Bolinas, Marin County, California "Established in 1853, St. Mary Magdalen is the oldest cemetery in Marin. The original cemetery was installed on a parcel donated by landowner Gregorio Briones, and until 1878 was the only cemetery available for local burials. In 1878, the Briones family donated the property – including the cemetery and the newly constructed church – to the San Francisco Archdiocese. "In the 1870s the location became home to churches and associated cemeteries installed by local assemblies of the Druids, the Methodists, and the Presbyterians. The Catholic cemetery has been in use to various degrees ever since. Through the years, the property has endured periods of change, neglect, and strife."
